This retrospective  featured thirteen films from one of the world’s most fascinating cinemas – including Zhang Yuan’s GREEN TEA, Tian Zhuangzhuang’s new documentary DE LA MU, Zhang Jiarui’s WHEN RUOMA WAS 17, and Guan Hu’s EYES OF A BEAUTY.

The chosen films represented the whole range of China’s social and economic development during the past few years. They reflect everyday life in fast-growing big cities like Beijing, Shanghai and Chongqing, as well as the problems, hopes and dreams of people living in rural areas.

Within the frame of this film week, all films had their Austrian premiere. They were screened in their original version with English subtitles.
